ACTNO, 8408 BILL NO. 33-0432 THIRTY-THIRD LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2020 An Act honoring and commending Orville Edward Kean, Ph.D. for his contributions to the University of the Virgin Islands and the Virgin Islands community by renaming the St. Thomas campus of the University of the Virgin Islands “The Orville Edward Kean Campus of the University of the Virgin Islands” ---0--- WHEREAS, Orville Edward Kean was born on October 13, 1938, to Edith Joseph Kean and Charles Kean, on St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, the second of three children; and WHEREAS, both the Joseph and Kean families into whose lineage he entered were upstanding families in the Virgin Islands community; and WHEREAS, through family links on both sides and social contacts Orville Kean developed outstanding traits of creative and practical acumen along with a propensity for focused, intellectual engagement; and WHEREAS, Dr. Kean’s success is enhanced by his close, loving relationship with his wife, Juliette Corneiro-Kean and children, Catherine A. …
