COMMITTEE ON HOMELAND SECURITY, JUSTICE AND PUBLIC SAFETY BILL NO. 36-0303 Thirty-Sixth Legislature of the Virgin Islands June 11, 2026 An act amending title 20 Virgin Islands Code, part II, chapter 38, section 424 to update child passenger safety requirements applicable to rental vehicles PROPOSED BY: Senator Angel L. Bolques, Jr. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: 1 SECTION 1. Title 20 Virgin Islands Code, part II, chapter 38, section 424 is amended 2 as follows: 3 (a) Strike subsection (a) and insert a new subsection (a): 4 “(a) A licensee shall: 5 (1) provide every driver of a drive-yourself car with a copy of 20 V.I.C. 6 § 466 and require the driver to acknowledge, in writing, receipt of the 7 information; and 8 (2) place a copy of 20 V.I.C. § 466 in the glove compartment of every 9 drive-yourself car.” 10 (b) In subsection (b), strike “any operator” and insert “every driver of a drive- 11 yourself car” and strike the last sentence. 12 2 (c) In subsection (c), paragraph (1), strike “operators” and insert “every driver of a 1 drive-yourself car”. …
