ACT NO.6419 BILL NO. 24-0046 TWENTY-FOURTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS OF THE UNITED STATES Regular Session 2001 To enact the “United States Virgin Islands Technology Initiative”, to amend title 32, chapter 21, Virgin Islands Code, to provide for a new Asticle XIV to license internet gaming and internet gambling in the Territory; to further amend title 32, section 246, Virgin Islands Code to Provide for an internet lottery, and for other purposes related thereto ---(0--- WHEREAS, it is the intent of the Legislature of the Virgin Islands to enhance the technological capability within the Virgin Islands and enable access to technology for the people of the Territory, and WHEREAS, the Legislature further desires to improve student capability and opportunities for Virgin Islands youth, as well as retain talented personnel within the Ternitory; and WHEREAS, tourism is the largest employer within the United States Virgin Islands and it is the intent of the Legislature to increase employment in tourism through permanent high technology positions; and WHEREAS, the Government of the Vir …
