ACTNO. 8400 BILL NO. 33-0360 THIRTY-THIRD LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2020 An Act amending title 17 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 5 adding a section 41g, implementing and setting the requirements for distance learning ---0--- WHEREAS, the Territory is susceptible to regional natural disasters that often make it difficult for learning to take place in physical classrooms; WHEREAS, the lack of providing distance learning negatively impacts students, as some required courses are unavailable in the traditional in-person, format throughout the school year; WHEREAS, distance learning has become necessary in the technological world in which we live; WHEREAS, the Territory is greatly increasing its ability to provide students with distance learning experiences comparable to the United States and other leading nations; WHEREAS, distance learning will increase opportunities for information sharing among students and teachers and will further prepare students with skills needed for a rapidly increasing technological world; WHEREAS, students will be given the opportunity to …
