NEWS IMMEDIATE RELEASE July 19, 2017 UVI CES AND VIDOA ANNOUNCES ARBORISTS’ WORKSHOPS The University of the Virgin Islands Cooperative Extension Service - Agriculture and Natural Resources Program and the Virgin Islands Department of Agriculture will hold FREE Arborists’ Workshops on Wednesday July 26, 2017 on St. Croix and Thursday, July 27, 2017 on St. Thomas from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The St. Croix workshop will be held in the Research and Extension Center, Room 133 on the Albert A. Sheen Campus. The St. Thomas workshop will be held in the Weiss Conference Room located in the West Residence Hall, St. Thomas Campus. The workshop will focus on proper pruning techniques, deciding when to remove a tree, importance of native trees to the ecosystem and an introduction to equipment used in arboriculture. All persons involved with or interested in caring for trees are encouraged to attend this important workshop. …
