The programs are targeted at 12th grade students planning to enter UVI in the fall or for UVI students who have successfully completed the MAT 024 course. Students entering other universities may also apply. Program sessions will meet from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Mondays through Fridays, from June 25 until August 3. The Summer Bridge2Calculus, which is in its second year, is designed to enhance the mathematics preparedness of college-bound students who are interested in pursuing careers in science, mathematics, engineering, technology or medicine. Specifically, it will prepare students to enter the introductory calculus course and provide a foundation for success in that important course. …

The programs are targeted at 12th grade students planning to enter UVI in the fall or for UVI students who have successfully completed the MAT 024 course. Students will also participate in field trips and receive an orientation to university life and services. Lunch will be provided each day. Space is available for 15 students on each campus. Applications will be accepted until the spaces are filled. Application forms are available from the UVI Division of Science and Mathematics, from high school counselors, and from the Emerging Caribbean Scientist web site - http://ecs.uvi.edu. The program is funded by UVI's National Science Foundation HBCU-UP grant.
