ACTNO.9 0 4 7 BILL NO. 36-0202 THIRTY-SIXTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2025 An act appropriating the sum of $2.77 million from the Budget Stabilization Fund to the Department of Human Services to cover the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) deficit resulting from the Federal Government Shutdown of 2025 a Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. (a) Notwithstanding the use restrictions of the Budget Stabilization Fund established in title 33 Virgin Islands Code, section 3100m, the sum of $2,770,000 is appropriated from the Budget Stabilization Fund of the Treasury of the Government of the Virgin Islands to the Department of Human Services in the fiscal year ending September 30, 2026 for Supplementa! Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) payments to cover the financial deficit created by the Federal Government Shutdown of 2025. (b) The sum appropriated in subsection (a) remains available until expended. Thus passed by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands on October 30, 2025. …
