1 IMPORTANT HIGHLIGHTS ➢ Please note the data for hotel occupancy report is missing one large hotel and several small hotels, guesthouses and villas reports were missing or inaccurately reported occupancy data. ➢ The Territory’s hotel annual occupancy rate was 56.1 percent in 2016 from 57.1 percent in 2015. USVI 2016 TOURISM INDICATOR | Annual & December Total Visitors Arrivals Fell By 11.6 Percent In December 2016 The Territory drew a total of 285,704 visitors in December 2016, up 11.6 percent from December 2015. December also rounded out twelve months of mixed data regarding visitor arrivals. December 2016 air arrivals were 81,788 a 7.8 percent increase over 75,851 that landed one year earlier. On the other hand, cruise passenger arrivals this month was 203,916 compared to 247,548 last December. The number of cruise ship calls declined to 76 from 83 December last year. Arrivals by District Air arrivals to the St. Thomas and St. John district totaled 65,490 a 6.9 percent increase from December 2015 total of 61,265. St. …
