(f) There is appropriated from the Internal Revenue Matching Fund, created by section 28, subsection (b) of the Revised Organic Act of 1954, for the Fiscal Year ending September 30, 2001, the sum of $2,558,326 to the Department of Public Works to be used to pave the Territorial roads of the Virgin Islands not provided for in the Act No. 6359 (Bill No. 23-0238) as follows: (1) St. Thomas $1,151,247 (2) St. Croix 1,151,247 (3) St. John 255,832. (g) There is appropriated from the Internal Revenue Matching Fund of the Treasury of the Government of the Virgin Islands for the Fiscal Year ending September 30, 2001, the sum of $25,000 to the Department of Tourism for the purpose of conducting a feasibility study on hosting Spring Break 2002 in the Virgin Islands. (h) The Governor is authorized to negotiate for the purchase of the Villa La Reine Shopping Center for use as a government office complex. There is appropriated from the Internal Revenue Matching Fund in the Treasury of the Government of the Virgin Islands ON OOAAWHND =A 5 for the Fiscal Year ending September 30, 2002 the sum of $54,000 to the Department of Property and Procurement for the purpose of doing an appraisal, survey and structural analyses of the Villa La Reine Shopping Center, St. Croix. SECTION 3. The items of appropriation contained in this Act shall be reduced by the sum expended for the objects and purposes of such item between October 1, 2000 and the effective date of this Act, which sum was expended pursuant to section 9(e) of the Revised Organic Act of the Virgin Islands. EXPLANATION The bill has been revised to reflect that the proposed appropriation of $14.2 Million is a contribution to the General Fund and not to the Union Arbitration Award and Government Employees Increment Fund. Additionally, the legislation proposes additional appropriations for school bus transportation, maintenance and repair of schools, Beacon schools, continuing adult education, incentive awards to government employees, and for summer youth employment.
