ARRIVALS BY DISTRICT Air arrivals to the St. Thomas and St. John district waned by 1.0 percent to 60,126 from 60,753 during the same period a year ago. St. Croix air arrivals experienced a strong growth of 9.9 percent to reach 15,531 from 14,138 last December. The gain in air passengers can partly be contributed to activities surrounding the Crucian Christmas Carnival. For the entire year, St. Croix has experienced month‐to‐month growth in air visitors. The St. Thomas and St. John district welcomed 233,286 cruise ship passengers, a decline of 18.8 percent from 287,302 last year. There were 14,262 cruise passengers to St. Croix this month compared to 27,623 cruise passengers last December. VISITOR ARRIVALS DECEMBER 2015 Visitor arrivals ended in December 2015 mixed; a total of 323,205 visitors came this month, a decline of 15.7 percent from December 2014. There were 247,548 cruise ship passenger arrivals this month compared to 308,375 last year, a reduction of 19.7 percent. The number of cruise ship calls fell to 83 from 97 December 2014. …
