The bulk of the offerings con sisted of Porto Rico’s, but included sev eral lois of varions full duty sugars Java whites and Czecho Slavakian rvefined tablets, the latter, it was said, amount- ing to some 5,500 tous held in port here. Around noon announcement was made of a sale to Federal of 7,400 bags Costa Rico centrifugals or lighters in port, lid- quidated under the old duty at 4,25¢. ba- sis 96 degrees dut’ paid delivered, which was figured as equivalent to 2.65 c. ¢ &f for Cubas. Lordon, June 13th.—While there are many direct preaictions in the sensa- tional] Sunday press of a nearly general election caused by the retirement of Mr. Lloyd George. yet the reports do not coincide with the present plans of the Premier, so far as they are manifested i his actions. A general election may however be brought about by means other than the voluntary retirement of the Prime Minister, and announcement of an appeal may quite possibiy pe made dur- ing the next two wecks. Such a fore- cast is based on what is seemingly a rel- atively minor incident. Dr Addison Renndos in the cabinet may develop a poiitical crisis of the first magnitude. Opposition against Dr Addison has been growing during the last few weeks.
