The Steory: Lord Greystoke, having been assigned to an impo-tant mission in the interior of Africa, leaves ingland with his yvoung wite. They tranship en route to a schooner and before long they diseover that razy have fallen among as big a bunch of cut-throats as ever set sail. Whileoff the west coast o Afrea, the erew mutinied and killed the offi- cers. Lord and Lady Greystuke are only spared on account of the former having res- cued one of the erew from the wrath of the bully of a Captain. They are put asdiore, with provisions and their personal belongiugs practically at the very gates of the jun- gle. There, after much labor, the lord eonstracts a rude but strong hut, which he makes proof against .he attack of wild beasts, where after some months the young ord Greystoke is born, a healthy, robust child. His mother suceumbs to the wild life and expires and her husband is prost®ated with grief. While absorbed in his sorrow, he is surprised by a band of great anthropoid apes and killed by a bull ape. Beforz the ape can kill the young lord in the cradle, Kala, a she-ape whose child has died, snatches the babe {rom the cradle and leaves in its place her own dead ape. She suckles the man-child and brings him up as her own child. He becomes one of the tribe of apes and is given the name of Tarzan, Tarzan of the Apes and becomes a mighty hunter. Later, after many adventures, he returns to civilization...... But rather come yourself and see the many adventures of Tarzan in his jungle home. Come and see him give battle to his deidly enemy, the lion. Come and see him as with head held high he ut- ters the terrible victory ery of his trtibe, the cry of the bull ape that had made its Kkill, Come and see the heir to one of the noblest titles in England running wild in the Afrie can jungle, tearing the raw flesh of his prey with his powerful teeth.
