ESS SS ETE IE 2D ETE EE NS GEIS ELD LETS ACT NO. 7240 BILL NO. 28-0313 TWENTY-EIGHTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2010 An Act authorizing the Virgin Islands Public Finance Authority to implement the United States Department of Commerce’s Broadband Technology opportunity program --0-- WHEREAS, the Virgin Islands Public Finance Authority has acted on behalf of the Virgin Islands to apply for and has received preliminary approval for the United States Department of Commerce Broadband Technology Opportunity Program Grants under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act; and WHEREAS, title 29 Virgin Islands Code, section 920 requires that the Virgin Islands Public Finance Authority only apply its funds to projects approved by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands; and WHEREAS, the Legislature has not heretofore approved the Broadband Project; Now, Therefore, Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. …
