Dema, P.C. 42-43 Strand Street Christiansted, St. Croix USVI 00820 Dear Mr. Dema: As discussed with you on October 27, 1992, as part of the Remedial Investigation, a pumping test will be conducted on some of the monitoring wells in the Tutu area. The TEIC has proposed to use two other wells in your property to obtain water-level measurements. This will provide better data for evaluation of aquifer hydraulic properties. Enclosed please find correspondence (10/22 and 10/23) between Geraghty & Miller, Inc. and me. These correspondence reflected the changes to the March 1992 Workplan and the locations of the two wells that TEIC would like to use for their measurements. I understand from our discussion that you are conducting a similar test with your wells and that you would like to utilize the same wells that Geraghty & Miller, Inc. are using. …

I understand from our discussion that you are conducting a similar test with your wells and that you would like to utilize the same wells that Geraghty & Miller, Inc. are using. I spoke with Anna Gloria, Project Coordinator of TEIC and Thomas Danahy, Project Manager for Geraghty & Miller, Inc. They would like you to provide a schedule with date and types of activities similar to the one they provided me (see 10/20 letter). This is to ensure they have someone on site to provide access to you on these wells for your pumping test. (CHT) at Four Winds Plaza (see Figure 1) for the upcoming pumping tests. Although it is not required to monitor these wells in the Tutu Service Station Investigation Work Plan prepared by Geraghty & Miller, Inc., March 1992, they will provide more water-level measuring points. Using more measuring points will provide better data for evaluation of aquifer hydraulic properties. The proximity of Monitoring Well CHT-6D and CHT-4 to the proposed pumping wells (i.e., MW-6 and MW-6D) would provide an excellent addition to the data. \ Geraghty & Miller appreciates your help in gaining access to these wells. During the purging of MW-10, the well was pumped dry within 12 minutes at a rate of 2 gallons per minute (gpm) and MW-10D was pumped dry within 25 minutes at a rate of 8 gpm. In comparison, MW-6R and MW-6D maintained a flow rate of 4 gpm and 8 gpm, respectively, therefore providing a sufficient yield for the pumping tests. £•.! Table 1 presents an update of the preliminary schedule for the pumping tests. As 4 requested by the USEPA and agreed to by Ana Gloria Ramos, Designated Coordinator, Tutu Environmental Investigation Committee, the current schedule includes an extension of the o :-.w: pumping test at the deep monitoring well (MW-6D) to possibly 72 hours, in order to allow for stabilization after potential delayed yield. The 72-hour pumping test will be stopped after 24 or ti 48 hours if the data indicates that a delayed yield is not still present.
