ACT NO.640 4 BILL NO. 24-0031 TWENTY-FOURTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS OF THE UNITED STATES Regular Session 2001 To amend title 3, chapter 25, section 584a, Virgin Islands Code, to provide for mandatory professional psychological evaluation and treatment of class III and other emergency- service employees _-0—- BE IT ENACTED by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. Title 3, chapter 25, section 584a, subsection (d), Virgin Islands Code, is amended by designating the existing language as paragraph (1) and by adding paragraph (2) to read as follows: “{2) A psychological evaluation shall be administered to an employee described in paragraph (1) of this subsection upon the recommendation of the employee’s supervisor or the person in charge of the respective agency. (A) ‘The evaluations, counseling and treatment shall be administered by a professional in the field of psychology or psychiatry at a location away from the place of employment. (B) The employer shall be responsible only for the cost of the evaluation. …
