ACTNO. 6858 BILL NO. 26-0303 TWENTY-SIXTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2006 An Act approving the projects to be funded with a $1,930,303 Community Development Block Grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development; amending Acts Nos. 6610, 6125, 6238, 6358 and 6676 to ‘reprogram funds from previous Community Development Block Grants | WHEREAS, each year the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) invites the Government of the Virgin Islands to apply for a Community Development Block Grant to be used for public facilities and services that primarily benefit low and moderate income persons, and the Legislature of the Virgin Islands approves the projects to be funded from each grant, pursuant to Virgin Island’s law, 3 VIC, §67, and 33VIC §3023 and based upon projects selected by the Department of Planning and Natural Resources through the Governor of the Virgin Islands; and WHEREAS, HUD recently invited the Government to apply for $1,930,303 for FY 2006 and the Department of Planning and Natural Resources, through the Office of the Gove …
