f o8 DUAL RESTDENCE OF THE PRESTDENT (Board of Trustees Meeting, July 11, 1971) The President asked approval of the Board to begin to spend a significant part of his time living on the island of St. Croix as well as on the island of St. Thomas to provide leadership necessary to the development of the St. Croix Campus of the College of the Virgin Islands. He mentioned the earlier decision of the Board of Trustees to develop a full campus of the College on the island of St. Croix as soon as possible, made reference to the extensive master planning which had been completed with the Board's approval over the past two years, and indicated that he believed that the College could not well put off a further realization of these plans. In the discussion which followed, there was general support for this proposal and the President was authorized to establish residence in St. Croix during a part of the academic year. f o8 DUAL RESTDENCE OF THE PRESTDENT (Board of Trustees Meeting, July 11, 1971) The President asked approval of the Board to begin to spend a significant part of his time living on the island of St. Croix as well as on the island of St. Thomas to provide leadership necessary to the development of the St. Croix Campus of the College of the Virgin Islands. He mentioned the earlier decision of the Board of Trustees to develop a full campus of the College on the island of St. Croix as soon as possible, made reference to the extensive master planning which had been completed with the Board's approval over the past two years, and indicated that he believed that the College could not well put off a further realization of these plans. In the discussion which followed, there was general support for this proposal and the President was authorized to establish residence in St. Croix during a part of the academic year. The President also discussed with the Board his intention to continue to increase the responsibilities of Dr. Richards as the College's Provost, as part of his attempt to evolve some of his responsibilities to others. He stated that this would have the effect of strengthening the College and also provide the President with the ability to work in a forward direction to further develop the College, including the St. Croix campus.
