I propose a committee of 7 members to receive and report on the bill. ond Member for Christiansted Town (Canegata) seconded the member’s mo- tion, and said, he was surprised that the 20d Appointed Member opposed his mo- tion, a privilege which he considers should be extended to him, and one which had been extended to him, the 2nd Appointed Member, in a reeent meeting. 4th Appointed Member (Blackwood) would like to know whether the biill is under Ist or 2nd !ilscussion? Now you end I, Mr. Chairman and Gentlemen of the Council, all that we have read and seen of the Gov- ernments of the world, in all capacities, large and small. it is necessary to have concentrated overnment to serve the people. Ne look up to our Government as true, to do what is right and just. This is a case I believe, all who are loyal to the Government consider should be changed at a moment’s unotice so as to serve the best interest of tne communi- ty: I consider it our duty to follow the lead of our Goverrment. At the last meeting we put through Ist Discussion on this bill, and it was said that, that was one of the dirtiest things ever done .in this Council. 1 do not see any dirt in this matter. No member has ever seen me put my hands to any thing that is not clean since 1 have been a member of this Council, Ifour Government con- 1 siders one District Judge can handle the work of the three islands, they have aright to change the law, and ] feel
