VIPD October Monthly Report
IN THE DISTRICT COURT OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS DIVISION OF ST. THOMAS & ST. JOHN VIPD OCTOBER 2024 STATUS REPORT COME NOW, the Virgin Islands Police Department and Territory of the Virgin Islands (collectively, “VIPD”), by and through the undersigned counsel, and hereby submit the October 2024 Status Report, as ordered by the Court. On September 14, 2024 and September 17, 2024, the VIPD Training Bureau hosted a Mental Health First Aid Training in the St. Croix District. The VIPD Training Bureau also hosted a two-day Level 1 Investigative Interviewing Techniques Training Course in both districts conducted by Collaborative Reform Initiative Technical Assistance Center (CRI*TAC). The training was held in the St. Thomas/St. John district October 7-8, 2024, and in the St. Croix district October 10-11, 2024. Between September 24, 2024, and October 16, 2024, VIPD was able to revise three (3) policies which were signed by the Police Commissioner and provided to VIPD personnel. The policies were Policy 3.14 - Vehicle Collision, Policy 3.7 - OC Spray, and Policy 3.16 - Active Shooter. …
