a Y U6 BILL NO. 29-0017 GOVERNOR TWENTY-NINTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2011 An Act appropriating $500,000 to the Department of Labor to fund Summer Employment opportunities for high school and college students throughout the Territory ---0--- Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. The sum of $500,000 is appropriated from the Education Initiative Fund of the Government of the Virgin Islands, in the fiscal year ending September 30, 2011, to the Department of Labor for the purpose of funding the Summer Employment Program for high school and college students throughout the Territory. SECTION 2. The Commissioner of Labor, or the Commissioner’s designee, shall coordinate with the Board of Career and Technical Education and the Department of Education to identify eligible participants with skills in the areas of carpentry, plumbing, electricity, masonry, and other skills associated with facilities repair maintenance. …
