ACTNO, 7720 BILL NO. 30-0543 THIRTIETH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2014 An Act ratifying Major Coastal Zone Permit No. CZT-03-12(L&W) issued to the Virgin Islands Department of Public Works WHEREAS, the St. Thomas Committee of the Virgin Islands Coastal Zone Management Commission issued Major Coastal Zone Permit No. CZT-03-12(L&W) to the Virgin Islands Department of Public Works on October 31, 2014, and the Governor approved the Permit on November 7, 2014; and WHEREAS, Major Coastal Zone Permit No. CZT-03-12(L&W) allows for improvements to Veterans Drive (Route 30) between Long Bay Road to Hospital Gade (Phase 1), and from Hospital Gade around the Legislature and Coast Guard buildings and terminating at Tvaer Gade (Phase 2). The proposed improvements will provide for a continuous four-lane roadway consisting of two | 1-foot lanes in each direction for a distance of 6,770 linear feet (1.28 mi.), a landscaped median, a sidewalk to the north and a promenade on the south with eight (8) lookout battlements including two turn around peninsulas. …
