ne RR OR RDRERETR SENNA ATTN BILL NO. 28-0085 TWENTY-EIGHTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2009 An Act amending 19 V.I.C., chapter 20, to establish the Revised Virgin Islands Revised Uniform Anatomical Gift Act ---0--- Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. Title 19, Part II, Chapter 20 is repealed and reenacted with amendments that read as follows: “Chapter 20 Virgin Islands Revised Uniform Anatomical Gift §401. SHORT TITLE This chapter may be cited as “The Revised Virgin Islands Uniform Anatomical Gift an §402. DEFINITIONS In this chapter (1) “Agent” means an individual: (A) authorized to make health-care decisions on the principal’s behalf by a power of attorney for health care; or (B) expressly authorized to make an anatomical gift on the principal’s behalf by any other record signed by the principal. (2) “Anatomical gift” means a donation of all or part of a human body to take effect after the donor’s death for the purposes of transplantation, therapy, research, or education. …
