THE BOY KANGERS. The Boy Rangers of America constitute an organization something on the order of Boy Scouts, but adapted to younger boys, from 8 to 12 years. The only group in Porto Rico is that of the Union Church which was organiz- ed last Fall, and has enjoyod ave ry vigorous existence since. The pur- pose is to help make young boys trusty, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind. obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent. There are 18 Rargers here including David Brown, Harwood Hr" George del Toro, Herbert Brown, Shermau, S.earns, Warner Cryder, Alfred Robin- son, Foster Nve’ James Hutchinson, Langston Hutchison, Joserh Kennerley, Pascual Rivera, Pedro Rivera Paul. Tail- bot, Roger Wall, Bryer Wall, Eugene Reed, and Jose Dorado. Recently the Rangers observed what they called ‘'Nail Week’’. They picked up all the rusty pails they found lying in the streets and their homes, and so re- moved a menace to the feet of barefoot children and to the tires of automobiles. These sharpeyed youngsters has collect- ed the astonishing total of 3,155 nails, all of which upon their honor as Rangers they collected from places where they were likely to endanger people or autos. The larzest number collected by any one boy was 1148. This huge number was found by Coleman Hull. The next largest pumber of nails was found by Bryer Wall. His total was 640, So, in this and other ways, these Boy Rangers are learning (0 be thoughtful and helpful little citizens of this com- murnity.--Porto Rico LProgress, March olst No. 84 Quebec Steamsh'p Co.
