ACTNO, 7594 BILL NO. 30-0253 THIRTIETH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2014 An Act amending title 22, chapter 33 of the Virgin Islands Code as it relates to assignment of health insurance payments directly to the provider of services, amending title 3 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 23, section 415 relating to terms of Board of Nurse Licensure members, and appropriating $100,000 to the Department of Human Services as a grant to Sea View Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility --0--- Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. Title 22 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 33 is amended by adding section 833a to read as follows: “$833a. Assignability of insurance payments Whenever, in any health insurance claim form, an insured specifically authorizes payment of benefits directly to any recognized hospital, licensed ambulance provider, physician, dentist, or other person who provided the services in accordance with the provisions of the policy, the insurer shall make such payment to the designated provider of such services. …
