SENEPOL - CATTLE FOR THE NEW MILLENNIUM University of the Virgin Islands St Croix, USVI November 8-9, 2002 CALL FOR PAPERS Research reports are being solicited for the Senepol Research Symposium to be held at the University of the Virgin Islands on St. Croix. Papers should report results of recent, original research on Senepol cattle. The areas of interest include, but are not limited to, heat tolerance, carcass quality, reproductive physiology and use in crossbreeding. Papers will be published in the conference proceedings. Guidelines for Manuscript Preparation (see example): 1. Papers should be in either MS Word or WordPerfect format and created in a Windows operating system (No Macintosh files will be accepted) 2. Use 12 point Times New Roman font with single spacing 3. All papers should be submitted in English 4. Use 1 inch (2.5 cm) margins all around 5. Sections of the paper should include Summary, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results & Discussion, Acknowledgements, Literature Cited 6. …

SENEPOL - CATTLE FOR THE NEW MILLENNIUM University of the Virgin Islands St Croix, USVI November 8-9, 2002 CALL FOR PAPERS Research reports are being solicited for the Senepol Research Symposium to be held at the University of the Virgin Islands on St. Croix. Papers should report results of recent, original research on Senepol cattle. The areas of interest include, but are not limited to, heat tolerance, carcass quality, reproductive physiology and use in crossbreeding. Papers will be published in the conference proceedings. Guidelines for Manuscript Preparation (see example): 1. Papers should be in either MS Word or WordPerfect format and created in a Windows operating system (No Macintosh files will be accepted) 2. The first page should contain the title, list of authors and institutional affiliation 7. The presenting author should be indicated with an * 8. The mailing address, email, phone and Fax of the corresponding author should be indicated in a footnote on the first page 9. Tables should be numbered consecutively and placed in the body of the paper close to the first reference made to them 10. Graphs should be numbered consecutively and placed in the body of the paper close to the first reference made to them as well 11. It is preferred that graphs be saved as a .tif document and inserted into the manuscript at the appropriate location Guidelines for Manuscript Submission: 1. All papers should be submitted electronically to rgodfre@uvi.edu and received by August 23, 2002 as an email attachment in MS Word or WordPerfect format 2. A hardcopy should also be sent by mail or overnight delivery service and be received by August 31, 2002 at the address listed below 3. When submitting the paper electronically include the title of the paper, authors, word processing software used (name and version) and contact information for corresponding author in the body of the email 4. Do not submit a paper by Fax because the transmission quality is insufficient for use Guidelines for Paper Presentations: 1. All papers will be presented as oral presentations 2. The length of presentations will be determined after all papers are received 3. Presenting authors will be informed of the time and day of their presentation prior to the symposium 4. The official language of the conference is English, but if it is necessary to present the paper in Spanish please make that request at the time of submission 5. Audio visual aids that will be available will include overhead projector, slide projector, LCD projector and laptop 6. If you plan on using PowerPoint please email a copy of the presentation to the address listed below prior to the meeting or bring it with you on a CD or ZIP disk 7. If you bring your own laptop please make sure that you are familiar with how to connect it to an LCD projector (PC systems only please, we have no Macintosh compatible equipment available) Example Layout: First page: Senepol Cattle: The History and Impact on Worldwide Livestock Production A.B.
