Brustmeyer Esq., and a promising young man of but 26 years of age. During the war Mr. Brustmeyer served in the United States army at home, but had since returned to private life and was doiug well and enjoying good heaith when recently heard from. His deaih is, therefore, a sudden b ow to the fami- ly toward whom we extend our hearfelt sympathy and condvlenees on this sad oceasion. W The service of the ordination to th: priesthood of Mr. C. S. Mayhew was attended by a large gathering at the tab- ernacle of the Bible Home and Foreign Missionary Society vesterday aiternoor, and was marked with deep solemnity and impressiveness. Four years ago, in two Character Sketches, I said that when the electors begin to think out their rights and duties as accountable being they will look for clean politics (in ‘Dr. C. J.
