It appearing that t' ve exist some mis- i understanding and hard feelings among stock estate proprietors and cattle deal- ers concerning editorial comment in this paper on the recent high cost of living as affected by the prices of local products | in which connection it was remarked | that the contemrlated raising of the price of meat on the basis of prices paid by the export trade was unreasonable . and r(iduculous because of the difference ' in quality of the meat sold locally and ' that exported, it is desired ta make clear ' that the argument advanced was a state- - mert of fact and not any supposition or | attempt at prevaricaticn.
