CROIX SUKKERFABRIK. Mails Close for St. Thomas, V, I. by the Creole at 4.30 today. il Ao Change In Mail Service Between Porto Kfco And The Yirgin Islands. The following intelligence is furnished by the postmaster at Christiansted and released for public information and guidance : The Post Office Department has issued an order dated February 17, 1922 dis- continuing the service heretofore per- formed by the ‘‘Mystery’’ between San Juan, P. R. and St. Croix via St. Thom- as. Effective March 1, 1922, this ser- vice will be performed by the S. S. “‘Marina’’ under econtract entered into with the Bull Insular Line of New York, N.Y., and on a schedule providing for one round trip per week from an Juan, P.R. via St. Thomas to St. Croix, and one round trip per week from San Juan to San Pedro de Macoris and Santo Domin- go City, R. D., pending adjustment of the quarantine restrictions at St. Thomas. The steamer will arrive at Christiansted at 1.00 p. m. Saturdays every first anc third weeks of each month, say each alternate trip, and on such occasions will depart from Frederiksted at 1.00 p. m the next day, Sunday. She will arrive at Frederiksted at 6.00 a. m. Saturdays every second and fourth weeks in each month, say each alternate trip, and on such occasions will depart from Ckhris- tiansted at 5.00 p. m. the same day. This service affords once a week connec- tion with St. Thomas, Porto Rico, Santo Domingo, and the States via Porto Rico, and the mails will be closed in Christiansted as usual at 4.00 p. m. Sat- urdays. The inter-island service will be continued by the Schooner ‘‘Creole” leaving Cristiansted at 6.00 p. m. Tues- days, and St. Thomas at 6.00 p. m. Wednesdays. Mails for the Creole wiil be closed in Christiansted at 4.30 p. m. Tuesdays. Emergency service will be employed to transport the mail from Frederiksted on Saturday mornings when the ‘“Marina’ docks there, and it is arranged to have the mail arrive at Christiansted by 9.00 a. m. thereby en- abling the delivery of same before the busy hours of ihe day set in. The public is asked to cooperate in mailing early | and often, and by so doing increase the efficiency of service in the distribution, delivery and dispatch of mails. Bornn, Consul for Belgium, manufacturer of the famous Bornn’s Bay Rum, and head cf the firm of D. O. Boron & Sons, Panama Hat Emporium, successor to Chas. Delinnis & Co. The deceased was 47 years of age. -was among the leading busi- ness men of the sister island. has served in the local legislature, and was in general one of those useful citizens whose passing rvobs the island of St. Tho- mas of one of its landmarks. To the sorrowing widow, three sons and other relatives thus suddenly bereav- ed we offer our heartfelt sympathy and condolences.
