BILL NO. 24-0023 TWENTY-FOURTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS OF THE UNITED STATES Regular Session 2001 To amend title 32, Virgin Islands Code, to establish the United States Virgin Islands Military Museum and Veterans Memorial Complex and for other related purposes ---0-—- WHEREAS, the exploits and deeds of American War Veterans have been memorialized through the erection of monuments, such as the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, D.C. and the Veteran Memorial Wall in Puerto Rico; and WHEREAS, Virgin Islands veterans have given their lives for the protection of peace, liberty and democracy; and WHEREAS, there is no memorial in the Virgin Islands in honor of the over 3000 .-registered, Virgin Islands War Veterafis if thé ‘Féerritory; ands ere re ane ea ee WHEREAS, there is a need to preserve, memorialize and promote the heroic deeds of Virgin Islands War Veterans; and WHEREAS, it is also the sense of the Legislature in enacting this Act that St. Croix native, Mr. Egbert V. …
