Public Noti HE attention of the publie, and the merchants in particular, is earnestly ! called to the following order issued | today to enlisted men of the United States naval serviee on duty in the Virgin | Islands. 2 ‘“J. No enlisted man of the United ! States Navy or Marine Corps on duty | in the Virgin Islands shall, in any | ene month hereafter, without writ- | ten permission from his commanding officer in each ease, contract debts beyond an amount which he shali be | able to conveniently pay on the first | pay day in the followxing month. ““2 Men reported for failure to pay just | debts on such pay day shall be sub- | ject to trial by court-martial.”’ Persons extendi:g credit to such en- | listed men should uvse discretion as to ; the amount of such credit so thal the | above order may be fully zomphed -with. …
