GOVERNMENT OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS OF THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES Press Contact: Ryan Nugent Director of Communications Ryan.nugent@dhs.vi.gov Phone: (340) 725-4924 PRESS RELEASE For Immediate Release: 15 March 2023 Department of Human Services St. Thomas Knud Hansen Offices Temporarily Closed due to lack of running water at facility U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS - The Virgin Islands Department of Human Services (VIDHS), is advising the community that due to a broken 24’ WAPA water mainline on the waterfront affecting downtown Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, the DHS Knud Hansen Complex will be closing this Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at 8:00am due to a lack of running water at the facilities In addition, Head Start Savan Bergs Home Head Start and Sugar Estate Head Start will also be closed. Classes will resume on Thursday, March 16, 2023. Due to the water outage the St. Thomas STRIVE Senior Recreational Center will also be temporarily closed. Congregate Meals will be home-delivered to clients in the afternoon. …
