Postal Information New Mail Service | THE following information concerning a ney mail serviee batween Portc Rico and the Virgin Jslands is furnished for the advice and gu dance of the pub- -1¢: i Contract awarded April 7, 1921, under advertisement ofeMarch 7, 1921, to the | Antilles Trading Company, for the term | from April 18, 1921. to June 30, 1924, at | rate of SIO,OOO per annum, for carrying | the mails between San Juan, P. R. and | I'rederiksted, St. Croix, by St. Thomas, | on the following schedule which is sub- ject to chaunge if it does not meet the | requirements of the service, or whenever conditions might warrant: | Leave San Juan, P. R. Thursdays at 6.00 p. m., or on receipt of mail from the United States, but not later than 6.00 p. m. Friday Ar.ive St. Thomas V. . in 24 hours. Leave Bt. Thomas, V.,1. It should be noted that there will be twice a week service with Porto Rico and the States and that mails will accordicgly be closed here twice a week, not aione for St. Thomas, hut for Porto Rien and tne States. These mails, we are advised, wili he forwarded from Porto Rieco bv the steamers of the New York and Porto Rico, and Red * D’ lines which 'leav2 San Juan bi-weekly on Wed- nesdays and Saturdays, the alternate Sat- urdays sailing from Mayaguez. There is apparently good reason to exp~ct that this service wiil prove satisractory in more than one respect. F.OCAL.
