RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES UNIVERSITY OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Purpose: To accept the UVI Next Report to the Board WHEREAS, continuous assessment of all University units is a mandate of the Board of Trustees via a Resolution approved at its June 2016 meeting, and WHEREAS, the UVINext Task Force reviewed 11 academic (10) and non-academic (1) units against questionnaires designed to allow Unit Heads to provide relevant information about mission, budget, productivity, service, areas for improvement, etc., and reviewed two units that were previously on strict scrutiny, and WHEREAS; the UVINext Task Force believes that the recommendations that each unit receive will enable it to better assess its operations to improve efficiency; and WHEREAS; the UVINext Task Force believes that this approach of assessment is critical to the future of UVI, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE UNIVERSITY THAT: 1. RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES UNIVERSITY OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Purpose: To accept the UVI Next Report to the Board WHEREAS, continuous assessment of all University units is a mandate of the Board of Trustees via a Resolution approved at its June 2016 meeting, and WHEREAS, the UVINext Task Force reviewed 11 academic (10) and non-academic (1) units against questionnaires designed to allow Unit Heads to provide relevant information about mission, budget, productivity, service, areas for improvement, etc., and reviewed two units that were previously on strict scrutiny, and WHEREAS; the UVINext Task Force believes that the recommendations that each unit receive will enable it to better assess its operations to improve efficiency; and WHEREAS; the UVINext Task Force believes that this approach of assessment is critical to the future of UVI, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE UNIVERSITY THAT: 1. The recommendations of the UVINext Task Force as outlined in the UVINext Report are accepted 2. The President is authorized to take such action as is needed to implement this resolution. 3. This resolution shall become effective June 20, 2020. CERTIFICATION The undersigned hereby certifies that the foregoing is a true and exact copy of a resolution of the Board of Trustees of the University of the Virgin Islands and adopted at its meeting on Saturday, June 20, 2020 as recorded in the minutes of the said meeting.
