THE VIRGIN ISLANDS POLICE DEPARTMENT “To Protect and Serve” Office of the Commissioner VIPD NEWS RELEASE- 112623-364 For Immediate Media Distribution November 26, 2023 CIB Investigates Human Remains Found on St. Croix St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands – On November 23, 2023, at about 9:47 a.m., a citizen reported the discovery of human remains while walking along the property in the vicinity of Estate Jealousy. The remains were in an advanced stage of decomposition and could not be identified; however, it appears the remains might be that of male because it had a big black and gray beard. The remains was collected by the morgue attendants, and the cause of death remains undetermined at this time and is pending DNA results. The case is currently being investigated by the VIPD Criminal Investigation Bureau. VIPD is asking the community if they have a family member who is missing to please call 911 or the CIB Tipline at (340)778-4850. ###
