Call for Proposals for University of the Virgin Islands 2017 – 2018 WATER RESOURCES RESEARCH INSTITUTE PROGRAM The Virgin Islands Water Resources Research Institute (VI-WRRI) at the University of the Virgin Islands is pleased to issue a Call for Proposals for the 2017 - 2018 U.S. Geological Survey Water Institute Program. Proposals that address water resources issues in the U.S. Virgin Islands are being sought. Funds for this program are made available through the Section 104 Institute Program of the U.S. Department of Interior – U.S. Geological Survey. All faculty and staff of the University of the Virgin Islands are eligible to apply for these funds through the VI-WRRI. Collaborations with non-UVI personnel are allowed and encouraged. There will be approximately $70,000 available to fund projects in the U.S. Virgin Islands. In 2016, three projects were funded in the $14-19,000 range. Projects in the $10-$20,000 range that advance water-related science that is strongly linked to community needs, with strong training and outreach potential are preferred. …

Call for Proposals for University of the Virgin Islands 2017 – 2018 WATER RESOURCES RESEARCH INSTITUTE PROGRAM The Virgin Islands Water Resources Research Institute (VI-WRRI) at the University of the Virgin Islands is pleased to issue a Call for Proposals for the 2017 - 2018 U.S. Geological Survey Water Institute Program. Proposals that address water resources issues in the U.S. Virgin Islands are being sought. Funds for this program are made available through the Section 104 Institute Program of the U.S. Department of Interior – U.S. Geological Survey. All faculty and staff of the University of the Virgin Islands are eligible to apply for these funds through the VI-WRRI. Collaborations with non-UVI personnel are allowed and encouraged. There will be approximately $70,000 available to fund projects in the U.S. Virgin Islands. In 2016, three projects were funded in the $14-19,000 range. Projects in the $10-$20,000 range that advance water-related science that is strongly linked to community needs, with strong training and outreach potential are preferred. Projects will be for a duration of one year with a start date of March 1, 2017 and an end date of February 28, 2018. Proposals are due by 5:00 pm EST, Friday, November 18, 2016. Proposals will be reviewed by a review panel and evaluated using the following criteria: Territorial relevance Technical merit Training and education opportunities provided Outreach plans for knowledge gained Feasibility of completion Competence of the principal investigator Completion of past obligations through this funding opportunity Persons having questions about this opportunity should contact VI-WRRI Director, Dr. Kristin Wilson Grimes.
