March 15 CHRISTIANSTED- Governor Albert Bryan Jr., on Thursday, announced the appointment of Dayna Clendinen as Director of the Virgin Islands Division of Personnel. Clendinen, who currently serves as the Assistant Commissioner of Public Works, is a Human Resource and Business Administration Professional with more than 18 years of leadership experience in public, private and nonprofit organizations. She has also served as Human Resources Director for the Department of Education, the Virgin Islands Housing Finance Authority and the Virgin Islands Port Authority where she also served as Chief Negotiator. “I am pleased to announce Dayna Clendinen as the Director of the Virgin Islands Division of Personnel. I am grateful for her continued service to the people of the Virgin Islands and look forward to her leading our efforts to connect talented Virgin Islanders and others to the critical vacancies within our government. She is charged with the professional development of our public sector-workforce” Governor Bryan said. Clendinen’s non-profit experience includes serving as an Administrator/ HR at the North Carolina Community Foundation.  She has also worked in the private sector as the Assistant to the VP of Organizational and People Development at GlaxoSmithKline and the Director of Global Resourcing & Financial Analysis. Director Nominee Clendinen is a candidate for the Ph.D. in Creative Leadership for Innovation and Change from the University of the Virgin Islands. She has a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications.
