COMMITTEE ON HEALTH, HOSPITALS AND HUMAN SERVICES BILL NO. 35-0068 Thirty-Fifth Legislature of the Virgin Islands April 4, 2023 An Act authorizing the members of the Board of Medical Examiners to serve temporarily as de facto board members of boards established under title 3 Virgin Islands Code, section 415 if a board does not have enough members to establish a quorum PROPOSED BY: Senator Novelle E. Francis, Jr. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: 1 SECTION 1. (a) The licensed physician members of the Board of Medical Examiners 2 appointed under title 3 Virgin Islands Code, section 415 (b)(1)(A) may serve temporarily as de 3 facto board members of any of the boards established under 3 V.I.C. § 415 whenever any one 4 of those boards does not have enough members to establish a quorum. 5 (b) Members of the Board of Medical Examiners serving on any board pursuant to 6 subsection (a) counts toward the number of members necessary to establish a quorum and shall 7 carry out the duties of the board, including the issuance of licenses. …
