Fawkes Supervisor of Elections Caroline.fawkes@vi.gov (o) 340-773-1021 (c) 340-227-8827 2014 ELECTIONS CALENDAR PUBLISHED The 2014 Elections Calendar has been officially published by the Office of the Supervisor of Elections. “We are now in compliance with the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA) also known as the MOVE Act which is a United States federal law dealing with elections and voting rights for United States citizens residing overseas which requires that all U.S. states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, and the U.S. Virgin Islands allow certain U.S. citizens to register to vote and to vote by absentee ballot in federal elections,” states Supervisor Caroline Fawkes. The 30th Legislature passed Act 7565 on October 23, 2013 which now places the U.S. Virgin Islands in compliance with the Act. Additionally, we are happy to report that the Elections Calendar is official and will be published widely via media and will be prominently featured via our website and social media networks,” states Supervisor Caroline Fawkes. Supervisor Fawkes also states, that “we thank the members of the public and organizations for their patience, as we move forward in officially starting the 2014 Elections Season.” See attached 2014 Elections Calendar. “If you want change, you have to make it.
