RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES UNIVERSITY OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Purpose: To approve a Bachelor of Business Administration program in Hotel and Tourism Management. WHEREAS, the University of the Virgin Islands is committed to supporting the intellectual and professional development of the workforce in the Virgin Islands as part of the University’s mission; and WHEREAS, the establishment of a Bachelor of Business Administration program in Hotel and Tourism Management would be in concert with strategic objectives of VISION 2012 and the Academic Master Plan of the University; and WHEREAS, the establishment of the Bachelor of Business Administration program in Hotel and Tourism Management would provide educational training for undergraduate students to manage various levels of tourism in the Virgin Islands and other tourism markets; and WHEREAS, on September 13, 2010, the faculty of the Management, Marketing and Decision Sciences Department in the School of Business approved the establishment of the Bachelor of Business Administration program in Hotel and Tourism Management at the Un …

RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES UNIVERSITY OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Purpose: To approve a Bachelor of Business Administration program in Hotel and Tourism Management. WHEREAS, the University of the Virgin Islands is committed to supporting the intellectual and professional development of the workforce in the Virgin Islands as part of the University’s mission; and WHEREAS, the establishment of a Bachelor of Business Administration program in Hotel and Tourism Management would be in concert with strategic objectives of VISION 2012 and the Academic Master Plan of the University; and WHEREAS, the establishment of the Bachelor of Business Administration program in Hotel and Tourism Management would provide educational training for undergraduate students to manage various levels of tourism in the Virgin Islands and other tourism markets; and WHEREAS, on September 13, 2010, the faculty of the Management, Marketing and Decision Sciences Department in the School of Business approved the establishment of the Bachelor of Business Administration program in Hotel and Tourism Management at the University; and WHEREAS, on September 15, 2010, the faculty in the School of Business approved the Bachelor of Business Administration program in Hotel and Tourism Management; and WHEREAS, on September 30, 2010, the Curriculum Committee approved the Bachelor of Business Administration program in Hotel and Tourism Management; and WHEREAS, on October 7, 2010, the faculty of the University approved the Bachelor of Business Administration program in Hotel and Tourism Management; and WHEREAS, on October 8, 2010, the Cabinet approved the establishment of the Bachelor of Business Administration program in Hotel and Tourism Management; and WHEREAS, on October 13, 2010, the Academic, Research and Student Affairs Committee of the Board of Trustees voted to recommend to the Board of Trustees the establishment of Bachelor of Business Administration program in Hotel and Tourism Management. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE UNIVERSITY THAT: 1. The establishment of the Bachelor of Business Administration in Hotel and Tourism Management is hereby approved. 2. The President is authorized to take such action as is necessary to implement this resolution. 3. This resolution shall become effective October 30, 2010. CERTIFICATION The undersigned hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and exact copy of a resolution of the Board of Trustees of the University of the Virgin Islands and adopted at its meeting on Saturday, October 30, 2010, as recorded in the minutes of the said meeting.
