Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the University of the Virgin Islands Approving the Public Phase for the Capital Campaign and Adjustment to the Campaign Goal WHEREAS, the University of the Virgin Islands has made significant strides to cultivate relationships with corporations, foundations, friends and alumni constituents during the private phase of the Capital Campaign, and WHEREAS, the UVI Board of Trustees and University leadership has made a substantial commitment to increase the University’s capacity to improve academic programs, construct new campus learning environments, to build capacity in the Foundation for the Reichhold Center and Foundation for the University of the Virgin Islands, and WHEREAS, the Development Committee has voted to recommend to the Board of Trustees to initiate the public phase of the Capital Campaign during the first half of 2015. The University has exceeded the 50% threshold required to enter the public phase. The Committee also seeks to increase the Campaign goal to $60M on the condition the University confirms LCME accreditation for UVI School of Medicine. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE UNIVERSITY: That the Board of Trustees of the University of the Virgin Islands hereby authorizes and approves, the University entering into the public phase of the Capital Campaign during the first half of 2015 and increasing the Campaign goal to $60M on the condition the University receives conformation on LCME accreditation for the UVI School of Medicine.
