ACTNO. 6837 BILL NO. 26-0222 TWENTY-SIXTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2006 An Act honoring and commending Sophia Johnson for her heroism in saving the life of a potential drowning victim on Hotel on the Cay Beach, and making an appropriation —-0--- WHEREAS, Sophia Roberta Deandra Jonhson was born on October 12, 1994, on the island of St. Croix to Robert and Sandra Johnson; and WHEREAS, Sophia is a sixth grade honor student at the Randolph Lockhart Elementary School; and WHEREAS, Sophia is a member of the Bethel Seventh Day Adventist Church and a frequent visitor to the First Assembly of God Church in Christiansted; and WHEREAS, even at this early age Sophia loves the Lord, loves to read her bible, pray and meet people; and WHEREAS, on August 29, 2002, Sophia was with her mother at the Hotel on the Cay Beach when she observed a four-year old child, Alyssa Carasotti, who was vacationing with her parents, drowning; and WHEREAS, on that date Sophia displayed true courage by performing an act of bravery and heroism when she went to the aid of the drowning child and p …
