PARTIES having claims. against the es- tate of the deceased DONALD ALOY- SIUS PETERSEN, goldsmith, of Frederiksted, and parties indebted to said estate, are hereby requested to file and settle said claims and indebtedness within ninety days (90) from date. Claimants for articles of jewelry left with the deceased for repairs, and now in possession of the estate, are requested to aprear at the Police Office in Frederik- sted every Tuesday and Friday between the hours of three and five o’clock p. m. to substantiate their claims and receive said articles. Herewith s an extract from the St. Thomas Bulleuin of 95th. insta t, speaking far itself, and showing up very glaringly that while this island is raising any amount of stock, and shipping it at good prices to other: mar- kets, the people at home are getting no benefits of this lucrative export irade having to pay according to latest fprice list published by the Food Commission, 29 cts. for beef and 24 ects. for ve:l as against 18 and 19 cents respectively for the same in St. Thomas. Readers will note the other requirements embadied in the notice and there is little chance that anyor.e will be able to contend that sails, manila and wist rope, paint and paint-oil having goune up in price is why we here in St. Uroix must -continue to pay about 507 more fw the things we produce than the people in St. Thomas, castle unlike fish not subsisting on those items of bardware. Butchers are required to keep a record of each and every purchase, which will include the name of the per- son from whom the purchase is made, the number of cattle purchased, the gross weight. the price per pound paid and the total amount paid, which record shall be available to the Food Commission at all times.
