ACTNO. 6756 BILL NO: 26-0075 _TWEN TY- SIXTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS OF THE UNITED STATES — Regular Session 2005 - To authorize the Commissioner of the Department of Property and Procurement to ratify and affirm certain contracts and purchase orders entered into in violation of title 31 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 23 ~--(--- - WHEREAS, pursuant to title 31 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 23, all contracts for goods and services which exceed five thousand dollars($5,000.00) must be in writing and -- approved by the Commissioner of the Department of Property and Procurement: and WHEREAS, title 31 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 23, provides that no purchase --may be made by any department or agency of the Government of the Virgin Islands except by written order approved by the Commissioner of the Department of Property and Procurement; and WHEREAS, title 31 Virgin Islands Code, chapter-23,—also provides-that-any- 7 purchase or contract entered into in violation of this chapter shall be null and void; and WHEREAS, such purchase or contract that is null and void is without legal eff …
