The .Pontiff praises eiforts at universal paci- fication, he condemns diveree, modern dances and immodest fashions, and the encyclical expresses the nope that alil those who are still outside the Church of Christ may enter it. The Pope says he is encouraged in this hope by the fact that nearly all the states of the world have entered iuto relations with the Apostolie See. [2 regrets that Italy, his country, and the seat of the Papacy is not among these, and protests against the sitnation of the Holy See in this country, which he says, has nothing to fear from it.
