ACTNO, 6698 BILL NO. 25-0217 TWENTY-FIFTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS OF THE UNITED STATES Regular Session 2004 To amend title 23, Virgin Islands. Code by adding chapter 4 to enact the “Virgin Islands ~~ National Incident-Based Crime Reporting Act” ---0--- BE IT ENACTED by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. Title 23, Virgin Islands Code is amended by adding chapter 4 to read as follows: “Chapter 4. § 441. This chapter shall be known and may be cited as the “Virgin Islands National Incident-Based Crime Reporting Act”. § 442. As used in this chapter and unless the context requires otherwise (1) “Commissioner” means the Commissioner of the Virgin Islands Police Department (2) “Department” means the Virgin Islands Police Department (3) “National Incident Based Reporting System” or “NIBRS” means an enhanced incident-based crime reporting system relating to every crime occurrence, developed for reporting crime figures to the Federal Bureau of Investigations. § 443. (a) The Commissioner shall establish an incident-based crime reporting system. …
