London, Sept. 24th. ~As a result of.a further conference with Mr.Lloyd George concerning the threatened coal strike, the miners executive body decided today to recommend to the delegates of the mii- ners, %ho are meeting this aftegnoon, that the strike notices which are effec- tive Saturday be suspended one week to enable the miners to meet the owners, as suggested by the Premier. The Pre- miers proposai was that a basic line De fixed for coal owtput at & sufficiently low level to insure a wage increase il any reasonable rate of production is main- tained. The recommendation of the Ex- ecutive body was followed by the miners delegates at the meeting later in the af- ternoon, and it was decided to suspend the strike notices one week as requested by the Premier. U. 8 A., WEDNESDAY 29tH SEPTEMBER 1920 Dublin, Sept. 24th.- -At a meeting of the Wexford Magistrates, a resolution was introduced by Colonel Bryan to re- peel the union o *Great Britain, and give the Prince of Wales the crown of Ireland as the best means of uniting Ireland and realizing Irish national aspirations. The resolutlon was defeated. Riga, Sept. 24th. -Adolph Joffe, head of the Soviet delegation, at todays ses- sion of the Russo-Polish Peace conference proposed an armistice, which he said must be accepted by the Poles within ten days, or the Russian winter cam- paign wouid be inauvgurated, which he declared the Soviet Eovt. desired to avoid.
