AMENDMENT. 1 (a) IN GENERAL.—The first section and section 2 of 2 Public Law 93–435 (48 U.S.C. 1705, 1706) are amended 3 by inserting ‘‘the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana 4 Islands,’’ after ‘‘Guam,’’ each place it appears. 5 (b) REFERENCES TO DATE OF ENACTMENT.—For 6 the purposes of the amendment made by subsection (a), 7 each reference in Public Law 93–435 to the ‘‘date of en- 8 actment’’ shall be considered to be a reference to the date 9 of the enactment of this section. …
