ACT NO, 65 BILL NO. 30-0418 THIRTIETH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS Regular Session 2014 An Act amending title 3 Virgin Islands Code, chapter 18 to establish the Virgin Islands Sports Commission and a National Sports Policy within the Department of Sports, Parks and Recreation that would be responsible for regulating sports, recreation, leisure and wellness programs in the Virgin Islands —-0-—- WHEREAS, the Legislature declares that it is the intent of this act to ensure that there is established a Virgin Islands Sports Policy for the territory to be administered by a Sports Commission under the auspices of the Department of Sports, Parks and Recreation; and WHEREAS, it is recognized that in the Virgin Islands there is no coherent well- coordinated and well organized national sports policy and program for the development and promotion of individual and team sports, and recreational, leisure and wellness programs in the territory; and that policy in this act refers to a high-level overall plan embracing general goals and acceptable procedure to guide and determine present and futu …
