It would seem by*this ameniment that the small owners do now repair the roads. Do they or do they not now re- pair the roads ? Lhe Viee Chairiman in rveply to the last speaker said, livery man that owns land whether he has 10 or 15 feet of road, repairs it himself. This amend- ment is to do away with that. Government having no objection the Vice-Chairman read the amenndment in its am:nded form and put same to the vote, 11 members voted for; 1 against. (Skeach) received 4 votes, Ist Member for Fred- eriksted Town (Jackson) 3 votes and 2nd M>mbor for Frederiksted Country Dis- trict (Lurry) one vote. As none hal obsoiute majerity vote a new [ree vote had to take place. 13 votinz tickets were handed in 4th Member ior Frederiksted Country Disiviei (Andersen) received 6 votes, Jrd Mombar for said District (M. M. Skeoch) with 5 votes and Ist Member for Fred- eriksted Town (Jackson} 2 votes. NHoe having received absolute majori- ty vote a neny vote had to be taken be- iween 4th Member for Frederiksted Co ntry Distiiet (Andersen) and 3rd Member for said Distriet {M. M. Skeoch). 14 voting iickets were handed in. 4th Memher far Frederiksted Country District (Andersen) received 7 votes, and 3rd Member for said Distriet (M. M. Skeogh) received 7 votes. Th2re being a tie vote and 3rd Mem- ber for Frederiksted Country District (M. M. Skaoch) being the elder »f the two was, by the Chairman,decla ed elect- ed to serve on the Electorsl Boa d. The ( Viee Chairman), aceording to pre- vious announcement, asked the audience to retire from the Hall, the doors were ciosed at 4 p. m. and the House went in- to committee on the Tax Ordinanece. Ist Member for Frederiksted Town (Jackson) left ihe meeting.
