BILL NO. 26-0027 TWENTY-SIXTH LEGISLATURE OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS OF THE UNITED STATES Regular Session To amend title 19 and 20 Virgin Islands Code, to increase the penalties for littering, for abandoned vehicles, and for illegally operating an automotive service or repair business, and for related purposes ---0--- BE IT ENACTED by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands: SECTION 1. Title 19, Virgin Islands Code, section 1562, subsection (a), is inserting “for each offense” after “$1000”. the existing language and inserting new language to read: “(a) | Whoever abandons a motor vehicle under the provisions of this chapter shall be fined not less than $1,000 not more than $2,500 for each abandoned vehicle and may also be prohibited from registering or licensing a vehicle or renewing his driver’s license. (b) The penalty established in subsection (a) is separate from any other penalty under the law.” SECTION 3. …
